Carne Asada Recipe: Founder’s Feast Fiery Fiesta

Yo, what’s up, grill masters? It’s Diego “El Fuego” Morales here, straight from the streets of San Antonio, bringing you the heat with my Carne Asada Recipe, amped up with Founder’s Feast seasoning. If you’re ready to take your grilling game to the next level, you’re in the right place. Let’s get that open flame cracklin’ and make some magic happen!

Ingredients for Your Carne Asada Recipe

  • 2 lbs skirt steak or flank steak
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon Founder’s Feast seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 jalapeños, sliced
  • Mesquite wood chips for grilling

How to Grill Carne Asada

  1. In a bowl, mix lime juice, orange juice, garlic, cilantro, Founder’s Feast seasoning, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
  2. Place the steak in a ziplock bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Add sliced onions and jalapeños. Let it marinate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  3. Preheat your grill to high heat, around 450°F, with mesquite wood chips for that authentic flavor.
  4. Remove the steak from the marinade and pat dry. Grill the steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness.
  5. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes, then slice against the grain.
  6. Serve with warm tortillas, guacamole, salsa, and lime wedges.

Grilling Tips from El Fuego

Pro tip: Don’t skimp on the marinating time; the longer, the better for that flavor to soak in. Make sure your grill is screaming hot; we’re going for that perfect char. If you can’t find mesquite, hickory or oak work too, but mesquite gives it that real Latin flair.

Serving Ideas

Tacos, obviously, but don’t sleep on using this for fajitas or even a killer steak salad. The possibilities are endless, just like my fire!
